marlboros, meds & pressed linens

celeb, fashion and all-things-ladylike blog 'Jezebel' featured an article today that was so pleasing to read that i felt compelled to write my sentiments down. it's on the topic of 'last things' - those items which, when economic crisis has stripped you of all else, you simply can not forgo.
the writing was so succinct, the message so relevant and the tone so sentimental that it made me wonder what my last things would be. barring my computer (it's on a level beyond give-up-ables) & my iphone (same story) what am i unwilling to give up ... ?

1. cigarettes (i buy them in cartons when i go to l.a. though, so they're 1/2 the price they would be in manhattan).

2. having my prescriptions filled with the brand version of the drug. (they say the generic is no different, but i firmly disagree).
3. chinese laundry service, ( while i can't definitively say that they are chinese, for the sake of a succinct 'last thing' item name i'll take this risk of political propriety) & ($20 every couple of weeks is well worth it when it means the time i would spend doing laundry can be appropriated to more pressing matters, ie: school, work, sleep).

post-script: ironically, the laundry photo i found through an image search is of a laundry service in l.a. which i immediately recognized.
